It was a comfortable place for us all to hang out by the camper and cook so we did that a lot. The first big disappointment was to discover after arriving that the hotel pool was closed for 'maintenance' (someone else told us it was really due to a staff shortage, even though no lifeguard or staff is even at the pool) until Thursday, the day we were all leaving ! We had never stayed at the RV park before, which seemed very nice and large and well maintained, and the pool looked great too, however we were informed that the RV park's outdoor pool is closed at 7pm every day ! Why so early ? This was too early for us after getting everything set up and dinner.

Since the ladies love casinos and our two families' three young daughters love swimming pools, when finding out that the Grand Casino swimming pools, both the hotel's indoor pool and the RV park's outdoor pool were OPEN again now after this COVID shutdown, being certain again to verify this while making the reservations for the July 12th through the 15th (2021), this seemed to be a great plan. As we have been long time GC members and have had many great hotel and casino visits in the past, and we also have a camper, we came up with the idea that their family could stay in the hotel while we stayed in the RV park. Grand Casino Hotel and RV Park My wife and her cousin from out of state wanted to have a nice get together of our families before their family moved to Hawaii. This was, by far, the worst stay of our lives. Both my wife and I have had our fair share of travel due to employment and vacations. Security was more interested in making sure people were wearing facial coverings than the obnoxious noise coming from hotel rooms. There were literally people screaming until 3:30am and parties being held in adjacent rooms. The whole bed felt like it was being protected by rubberized protections which leads me to believe they’ve had “issues” in the past. The mattress was terrible and each room is provided four very small pillows, unlike what normal hotels provide.

Doesn’t look like the rooms have been touched since the early 90’s. The rooms are spacious but extremely dated. If you’re sensitive to this smell, even the “non-smoking” rooms will leave you and your baggage smelling foul.

The casino area seemed nice enough but we weren’t prepared for the whole place to smell like a gigantic ashtray. If you’re going to be staying in the attached hotel read this… My wife and I recently stayed at the hotel portion for a wedding.
